Ilfracombe and it's Iconic Statue--Verity!
One cannot help but be left in awe at the sight of Damien Hirst's 66-feet statue towering at the entrance to Ilfracombe's picturesque harbour, and surrounded by dramatic clifftop scenery. One cannot image a more perfect location. This controversial statue received mixed reactions from the art world, but personally I find the sight of this pregnant lady holding her sword up high both magnificent and exhilarating. Give to it what symbolism and meaning you will; I see her holding up the sword of truth in a triumphant gesture.
Afterwards, stroll abound Ilfracombe's scenic harbour and enjoy the sight of fishing boats coming and going. You'll find arts and crafts shops, eateries and other independent shops in the narrow streets around the harbour.
Parking? You can park right at the harbour itself.
Boating―Fishing? Swimming with seals? Diving? All our possible with boats leaving from Ilfracombe. Please visit http://www.bluefincharters.co.uk/ or wildfrontiercharters.co.uk or http://www.ilfracombeseasafari.co.uk/ for more details.
